Submission Guidelines

Please follow these guidelines when submitting artwork to The 365 Project:

  • Completed Works
    • Contact Information. Tell us who you are and how to get in contact with you. All of your personal information will be regarded as if it was our own, and, believe me, we hate e-mail spam and telemarketing solicitations more that you do. Also, you need to tell us what (if any) personal information you want published on the web site. You can post your work as anonymous (with only city, state published) or you can elect for us to post your name and web link, or anything in between.
    • 365 Project Requirements. Each completed work must specifically reference a posted line, or poem or other artwork as the basis of inspiration. Poets should reference the project line on which the poem is based, either in the title, as an epigraph under the title, or as lines within the poem itself. One poem for each of the 365 lines (one per day) will be selected for publication in a print anthology. Shorter poems (those that will fit on one double-spaced typewritten page) have a much better chance of being chosen for the anthology.
    • Submission Formats. The Project accepts a wide variety of formats for submission. If you are unable to conform your work to one of the accepted formats below, drop us a line and tell us what you have.

    • Agreement. In order to submit work to The 365 Project, you will need to agree to the following:

“I certify that I am the author and exclusive copyright holder of this work submitted via the Internet and grant The 365 Project non-exclusive rights to publish, exhibit, reproduce, in print and by all known electronic mediums, the above listed work. I agree that The 365 Project may publish this work in whatever manner they choose, that I will receive no financial remuneration whatsoever, and that I will retain the copyright to this work.”

    • Editorial Discretion. The 365 Project reserves the right to make editorial decisions based on quality and appropriateness of the work submitted. Additionally, any “hate” material will be rejected outright.
  • Project Commissions
    • Contact Information for All Involved. Tell us who you are and how to get in contact with you. All of your personal information will be regarded as if it was our own, and, believe me, we hate e-mail spam and telemarketing solicitations more that you do. Also, if you are a group you need to tell us how you would like to be represented to others.
    • Project Description. Describe your project in as much detail as possible. We’ll read every word. We are aiming to reward recognized commissions with exclusivity in their area, so it is important to know as much about your project as possible. We don’t want to make the mistake of not recognizing a commission by mistakenly assuming it was too similar to another project. Once your commission is accepted, you will be recognized on the web site as a commissioned project.
    • Agreement. In order to submit a commission idea to The 365 Project, you will need to agree to the following:

”I, [your name here], intend to complete [project name with brief description] based on the [poem/lines] for [date/week/etc]. I will complete this work and submit a [denote completed format (.jpg, .mov, etc.) of the work by [estimated completion date]. I agree that The 365 Project may publish, excerpt, or describe this work in whatever manner they choose, and that I will receive no financial remuneration whatsoever. I will retain the copyright to this work. Please write a brief description of the proposed work.”

    • Editorial Discretion. The 365 Project reserves the right to make editorial decisions based on quality and appropriateness of the work submitted. Additionally, any “hate” material will be rejected outright.
